Zell am See sits on the Giselabahn and is also the junction for the narrow-gauge Pinzgauer Lokalbahn to Krimml. Kaprun and the Kitzsteinhorn glacier are reached by bus line 660, included in the Ski ALPIN CARD during lift hours and free to everyone only within Kaprun itself, and the Schmittenhohe ski area by cable car from the town.
